Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17

also known as: Myr-KLAKK-NH2

Myr-KLAKK-NH2, the lipopeptide in many eyelash and brow serums. PubMed holds no study of it, so claims about lash growth rest on marketing, not published data.

Myristoyl pentapeptide-17 is a synthetic lipopeptide, a myristoyl group on the pentapeptide amide Lys-Leu-Ala-Lys-Lys-NH2 (PubChem's record gives the structure under its INCI name). It is a common ingredient of eyelash and eyebrow serums, but a title-and-abstract search of PubMed for its INCI name, matched word by word, finds no study of it, and no eyelash or eyebrow paper names a myristoyl peptide. It is not a drug and has no drug approval.

Mechanism of action

Not established: no published study describes its action on hair follicles or any other tissue.

Primary uses

  • Cosmetic eyelash and eyebrow serums

Typical dosing

Not established for human use

No controlled study of the ingredient on its own states an amount used on skin, and a supplier's use level is not a source on this site, so none is given.

Regulatory status

Not a drug: listed as a cosmetic ingredient under its INCI name (PubChem CID 127264611). Drugs@FDA and the EMA medicines list hold no record for it (searched October 28, 2026).

Status as of this entry's last review, October 28, 2026. Approvals, compounding rules and sport rules change; the regulatory tracker is checked more often.

What we checked

Myristoyl pentapeptide-17 is the lash-serum lipopeptide. It has no published literature; this section records what can be checked.

The calculator used elsewhere on this site does not handle a myristoyl cap, so the formula and weight are PubChem's, not computed here.

Regulatory status, read October 28, 2026

Drugs@FDA: 0 records for “myristoyl pentapeptide-17”. EMA medicines list: 0 records for “myristoyl pentapeptide-17”. Run for semaglutide, the same queries return 6 and 5 records (and the registry search 80 trials), so a zero here is an absence, not a broken search. Not named on the WADA 2026 and 2027 Prohibited Lists. As a substance with no current approval for human therapeutic use, it falls under section S0 (non-approved substances), which is prohibited at all times; the lists were read on October 28, 2026.
